21-year-old arrested for shooting into crowd of late-night auto-enthusiasts in Greeley

By Heather Willard | Fox 31 News A 21-year-old man was arrested after reportedly shooting into a crowd of nearly 60 people in Greeley in the early morning hours Monday. Police said no one was hit by the gunfire, but one person is now under arrest. According to the Greeley Police Department, officers patrolled 36th Avenue and 10th Street at about 12:11 a.m. to ensure a group of auto enthusiasts kept the large gathering safe and legal. By Maddie Rhodes | Fox 31 News For 25 years, a local woman has taken U.S. 285 to Guanella Pass to see the fall leaves, but this year, she said conditions are worse than they’ve ever been. Heather Vigil, a fourth-generation Coloradan, lives in the Fort Logan neighborhood in Denver. Vigil said that for years during the fall, she and her husband would take U.S. 285 to the mountains for autumn picnics and to enjoy the fall colors. They usually take the trip multiple times a year, however, this year’s drive was much different. Chris Schroll lives in Parker and was impacted. His service is back but he received an email from BAM Broadband that said in part: “We have been given more information from our upstream carrier regarding the damage and we wanted to share this with you. It has been reported that the cause of the outage was vandalism. Colorado lawsuit attempting to block Kroger, Albertsons merger will begin next week

By Gabrielle Franklin | Fox 31 News Colorado’s lawsuit against the parent companies of King Soopers and Safeway is set to begin next week. Before that happens, Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser briefed the public about the case. Several other lawsuits surrounding the merger are being heard across the U.S., but Weiser said Colorado’s case is a little different from the rest. “In July, a district court judge ruled that the merger had a reasonable probability of violating the law here in Colorado — the Colorado Antitrust Act. That ruling put a temporary pause on the merger. We’re now prepared for what we believe will be the case that will end this merger and will prevent it from harming Coloradans,” said Weiser during a news conference Thursday. These booklets are sent to every household with a registered voter in it and this year, around 2 million were sent out. The Colorado Legislative Staff Council, which creates and sends out the booklets for statewide elections, told FOX31 that the booklets for the 2024 election cost around $3.65 million to produce. On Tuesday, Ordinance No. O-024-004, “Safe use of public property to limit public camping and prohibit temporary structures on public property within Douglas County, Colorado,” was adopted at the county’s Board of County Commissioners public hearing. According to the ordinance, this ban was “necessary” for public welfare, health and safety. While this ordinance was adopted, it won’t be in place for another month. Here’s what it means. Brad Bledsoe began his knack for growing pumpkins four years ago when he grew, what he thought was, a large pumpkin. Researchers at the University of Colorado Boulder looked into the neighborhood that is filled with manufacturing plants like the Suncor Energy oil refinery, the Robert W. Hite wastewater treatment plant, local industrial shops and major highways.
