100 license plate readers equals 100 arrests of suspects on varius charges, Denver police say

By Maddie Rhodes | Fox 31 News License plate readers are continuing to be installed around Denver, and with almost 100 readers around the city, police have been able to arrest over 100 suspects on various criminal charges. The city’s plan to install over 100 license plate readers was announced in January as part of an initiative to crack down on auto theft. Since the installation, the Denver Police Department said there have already been success stories. Police released the Flock Safety Transparency Portal, which allows residents to see which law enforcement agencies have access to the data, prohibited uses of the information, what’s not detected and other information. Denver has 35 ‘centi-millionaires,’ or residents worth $100 million or more

By Samantha Jarpe | Fox 31 News There are 35 residents living in Denver who are “centi-millionaires” and are worth $100 million or more, according to a new report released by the consultant company Henley & Partners. According to the report, a centi-millionaire is anyone with liquid investible wealth of $100 million or more. This includes things like company and cash holdings and debt-free residential property holdings. The Mile High City was not on the top 50 list but was included on Henley & Partner’s “cities to watch” list, which are cities forecast to see a jump in the number of centi-millionaires between now and 2040. I’m going to Springfield and I’m going to Aurora,” Trump told rally-goers. “You may never see me again, but that’s OK. Got to do what I got to do.” The city of Aurora told FOX31 that the municipality had not been notified of any formalized plans for a visit from the former president. On Aug. 30, Greeley School Resource Officers were made aware of an alleged assault between an adult teacher and a 6-year-old student at Maplewood Elementary, located at 1201 21st Ave. According to Greeley police, they were notified of the alleged assault by Greeley-Evans School District 6 administrators and security. By Jim Hooley | Fox 31 News The Colorado State Patrol will release body camera footage on Monday of a deadly shootout between a trooper and a gunman. The shooting happened on the afternoon of Sept. 7 along U.S. Highway 36 near Federal Boulevard in Adams County. On Monday CSP will share the body camera and narrate the timeline of events that took place. CSP said Cpl. Tye Simcox was parked on the side of the road in his patrol pickup truck doing paperwork. That’s when the suspect drove past Simcox, heading eastbound in a black pickup, and opened fire from a semi-automatic handheld gun, CSP Chief Col. 1 dead in Broomfield apartment shooting; suspect shot

By Morgan Whitle and  Heather Willard | KDVR Broomfield police took a seriously injured suspect into custody following what they called an active shooting at an apartment complex that led to a female victim’s death. At 6:34 a.m. Thursday, the Broomfield Police Department said officers were called to a disturbance at the Arista Flats apartments at 8200 Arista Place, east of Wadsworth Parkway near the former 1stBank Center. According to Rachel Haslett with Broomfield police, when officers got to the unit, they heard a man making threats and then gunshots. Plane crashes on Meridian Golf Course in Englewood, both occupants of plane walk away with only minor injuries

By Morgan Whitley | Fox 31 News South Metro Fire Rescue responded to an aircraft crash at a golf course in unincorporated Douglas County. Just before 10 a.m. Wednesday, South Metro posted on X that crews were called to the Meridian Golf Course in Englewood on reports of an aircraft that had crashed and landed upside down. According to South Metro, the aircraft was a Cessna 172 with two people on board. Both victims were able to walk away, one with minor injuries and another with no injuries.
