James O’Keefe’s suit against CNN can proceed following appeals court decision

By Hannah Nightingale | The Post Millennial After three years, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in Georgia has delivered a victory in a case brought forth by James O’Keefe, founder of O’Keefe Media Group, and his former group Project Veritas, against CNN for defamation. Circuit Judge Elizabeth Branch wrote in an opinion  for the court that on February 11, 2021, the Project Veritas account on then-Twitter was suspended. CNN’s Ana Cabrera claimed on February 15 that the account had been banned for "promoting misinformation," while Project Veritas said that it was because it had violated Twitter’s "publication of private information," or "doxxing" policy. "When CNN refused to issue a retraction, Veritas sued for defamation. The district court granted CNN’s motio...

Judge could count Trump’s second term as community service, Fox’s Turley says

By Nicole Silverio | Daily Caller George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley said Tuesday that the judge overseeing President-elect Donald Trump’s hush money case could count Trump’s upcoming presidency as community service. Judge Juan Merchan, who is overseeing the case, granted a request on Tuesday made by prosecutors and defense teams to pause all deadlines and the president-elect’s sentencing date in order to review the impact of Trump’s victory. Turley said the idea of imposing a delay on the case until after Trump’s presidency would not be a “welcome” idea, suggesting that the judge could instead count the presidency as community service or ensure there be no jail time. “There’s gonna be some maneuvering going on as to what can be still reviewed,” Turley told...

Former Chrysler exec says Trump’s win is prompting CEOs to move out of China

By Taylor Penley  | Fox Business President-elect Donald Trump's landslide victory over Vice President Harris is already sending shockwaves through the business world as executives have looked to move production out of China since last week, former Home Depot and Chrysler CEO Bob Nardelli told FOX Business. "I think he's [Trump] going to be very positive about growth. He's going to be very protective. He's going to try to re-shore onshore stuff out of China," he said Tuesday on "Mornings with Maria." "Big discussion yesterday about the supply issue, basically superseding the domestic demand issue in China, so a lot of the companies I'm talking to and CEOs are already looking at how they're going to move out of China, either onshore, back to the U.S., or re-shore to another favorab...

By The Washington Examiner President-elect Donald Trump is expected to nominate Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) as secretary of homeland security.  Noem has been governor of South Dakota since 2019, the first woman to serve as governor in the state’s history. She won reelection in 2022 and began her second term in January 2023. She was elected to South Dakota’s at-large seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2010. Before Congress, Noem was elected to South Dakota’s House of Representatives in 2006. The news of her selection was reported by CNN. Noem was touted as a running mate for Trump in the 2024 election. However, a controversy surrounding a passage from Noem’s newly released book, in which she detailed having to kill a dog, quieted such rumors.  READ...

Republicans win House, delivering Trump a trifecta

By Emily Brooks | The Hill Republicans are projected to keep control of the House of Representatives, handing the party total control of Washington with President-elect Trump back in the White House in January. Decision Desk HQ projected the GOP would hold the House by winning its 218th seat on Monday, the number needed for a majority in the lower chamber. The result is a major win for Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), who skyrocketed up from obscurity to lead the House GOP not only legislatively, but also in a large role in its campaign infrastructure. Krannawitter: The lessons those most in need of them should learn from election

By Dr. Thomas Krannawitter | Commentary, Thomas Krannawitter The 2024 presidential elections offer many important lessons for political scientists, campaign consultants, partisan activists disguised as journalists, comedians, or professors, and ordinary citizens. It seems many of the people most in need of those lessons refuse to learn them. I, however, am not one to give up easily. I will try to reframe some of the lessons from our recent history-altering elections in ways that might grab the attention of those who are currently staging protests and denouncing those whose votes they desperately want to attract. As EPA Administrator, we will restore American energy dominance, revitalize our auto industry to bring back American jobs, make the United States the global leader of Artificial Intelligence advancement, and slash the red tape holding back American workers from upward economic mobility,” Zeldin said in a statement to The Post. Democratic voters oust soft-on-crime prosecutors

By Dan Hart | Daily Signal It appears that even in Democratic strongholds, voters have had enough with soft-on-crime policies that have been implemented by left-wing prosecutors in recent years. In California and Illinois, three district attorneys who enacted lenient criminal policies were ousted during Tuesday’s election. In addition, a ballot measure to toughen criminal penalties in California was passed overwhelmingly. In Los Angeles County, which Vice President Kamala Harris won by almost 30 points, Democratic District Attorney George Gascón lost by 22 points to Nathan Hochman, an independent. Gascón, who was elected with the backing of George Soros in the wake of the George Floyd killing in 2020, became known for eliminating cash bail and refusing to charge ...
